In continuing the tradition of historical painting, my works are recollections of specific events in time emblematically illustrated through present-day narratives. I utilize current news-makers and worldly issues as my inspiration and place them in strifeful situations befitting the ample canvases they are presented on. Engulfing my viewer through scale, these works are meant to be a visual experience where the symbolism is as heavy-handed as a bulletproof glove. ‘The New Delaware’ 2016, is a direct parody of the famous painting by Emanuel Leutze (Washington Crossing the Delaware), and it depicts current and aspiring climate change denying Law makers crossing a flooded South Beach.
